Spend a day on the historic Hernando Court Square when the Hernando Optimist Club sponsors the grand-daddy of all arts and crafts fairs -- the Hernando A'Fair -- on Saturday, May 17. This one-day event brings thousands to downtown Hernando each year, and features more than 300 artisans, crafters and food vendors from the Southaeast. In addition to arts and crafts, there's bluegrass music on the courthouse lawn and a 5K run that winds down the streets of Hernando. Join us as the Hernando Main Street Chamber of Commerce hosts its annual outdoor movie series, Movies on the Square. Come out and enjoy the novelty of a family-friendly movie under the stars in a setting that brings back a feeling of yesteryear.
This year's series kicks off on the lawn of the DeSoto County Courthouse, on the heels of the Hernando A'Fair on Saturday, May 17, with the neo-classic baseball favorite, FIELD OF DREAMS.
Chairs and blankets are permitted, however, no pets or outside food, please. Concessions will be on hand. Cash donations benefit the Hernando Entryway Sign Project.

Bring the little ones out for an exciting and unique way to celebrate our nation's independence during Hernando's signature Fourth of July activity - Picnic & Parade Around the Square.
Decorate your child's bike, scooter or other non-motorized vehicle in patriotic colors and watch as they parade around Hernando's historic Court Square. Free refreshments and other goodies will be provided.
Afterward, join us for a free movie under the stars on the lawn of the historic DeSoto County Courthouse. |
